I have been thinking for a long time about whether I can use the word "sadistic" here, seeing that the term was derived from Marquis de Sade. I chose to use it anyway, since that's the way the scene played out in my head, and rephrasing it wouldn't have sounded right to me. Hey, it's my alternate universe, I can do that, right? ;)
